Çankırı Karatekin University’s Department of Social Work and Counseling welcomed its new students for the 2025–2026 academic year. The orientation training, held on September 23, 2025, introduced first-year students to the department and university life.
At the opening of the program, students were introduced to the department’s vision, mission, and academic staff. Afterwards, introductory videos prepared to ease the adaptation process to the university were shown, followed by short discussions with students about the content. The videos highlighted the social, cultural, and academic opportunities offered by the university, emphasizing the importance of active participation in university life. As part of the orientation, students also received information about various social, cultural, and academic activities.
One of the most remarkable parts of the event was bringing together second-year students with the newly enrolled first-year students. During this gathering, pairings were made under the peer mentoring system. This initiative aimed to help new students adapt more quickly both academically and socially, while receiving support from experienced peers.
